WTN: 2009 Edmunds St. John Syrah Wylie

by David M. Bueker » Thu Sep 29, 2011 8:32 am

This is closing down in my estimation, as it was far less expressive that a bottle 6 months ago. That said it still posesses great depth (if you wait long enough) and the animale aspects of the Syrah come out with lots of air. Plenty of stuffing for an extended trip to the cellar.

What a shame. I never got around to buying this, although it kept nagging at the back of my mind.

I guess there will be another vintage!

The owner of this vineyard made life impossible for the person who managed the vineyard, and he parted ways with her. As a result, I'm no longer using any fruit from the vineyard. Sad, but true.
I don't know just how I'm supposed to play this scene, but I ain't afraid to learn...

Oh yes, now that you mention it I think I remember you writing about this. My storage is very limited but this could be a reason to buy some.
