Tried this wine Sat night w/ Susan:
1. Purety NapaVlly WW (52% SauvBlanc/48% Semillon; 360 cs; 14.8%; no ML fermentation; www. PureCruWines.com) pure Cru Wines/Mitch Cosentino 2009: Med.yellow color; rather stony/minerally slight herbal somewhat figgy/melon/quince attractive/old world/perfumed talc nose; very tart/lean stony/minerally/chalky light figgy/melon/quince/spicy slight metallic/tangy flavor; very long stony/minerally/chalky light figgy/melon finish; very much a food wine and should go out 10 yrs or more; quite an interesting and attractive wine. $25.00

A wee BloodyPulpit:
1. This btl was gifted to me last week by Jane Young, exec dir of the Meritage Alliance. Though it fits the definition of a Meritage, it is not labeled as such. This effort (pure Cru Wines) is a new partnership effort of Mitch Cosentino. I gather he will eventually get his name back after selling his eponymous CosentinoWnry.
I was quite taken by this wine and thought it reminded me of some of the Bedrock Semillons.
