WTN: 2008 Arianna Occhipinti Il Frappato Sicilia IGT

by David M. Bueker » Mon Sep 26, 2011 1:34 pm

First bottle back after two weeks without wine (on our annual hiking trip in the middle of nowhere), and this hits the spot. It's bright, refreshing, and bursting with tart red fruits that cut through the oppresive summerlike humidity. I suppose you could age it a bit, but I see no reason to do so.

The wine was nearly as revitalizing as this:

In part a remembrance of the recently departed Joe Dressner?

Good choice whatever the reason.

The trip this year was the Canadian Rockies (yet again). Patagonia was last year.

As far as the Dressner conneciton - yeah, I thought it appropriate to raise a glass. He brought us a lot of great wines.

Haven't had the white.
