Nova Scotia
Dark purple in the glass.
Lightly spicy on the nose.
Light weight, quite tangy, juicy raspberry, currants, cherry, smoky, lightly prickly on the tongue, peppery.
Tart, tangy, mouthwatering finish.
A nice little wine.
Before my visit, I had never heard of this hybrid grape, but here is some info from a Web site I found: "...it has been cultivated as a red French-American hybrid for decades. Castel 19637 or Castel which is its common name, is a cross between Cinsaut x V. rupestris."
Purchased at the winery.
