A fascinating combination of young fresh fruit - citrus and touch of peaches - and a deep, dusty minerality stepping more and more in the foreground as the wine gets warmer in the glass.
In the mouth an explosion of intense flavours and a deep, chewable minerality. Dense fruit, lemon and grape fruit-like acidity and a dry taste that grows in intensity to end in a crescendo of hot peppery tastes and a bitter minerality. A really amazing wine which surprised me by being bone dry unlike many of the wines from van Volxem that often have a touch of sweetness. My first 2010 van Volxem and a great buy for EUR 16.90 (ex cellar).
Cheers,
Anders
