WTN: Pelee Island Monarch Red 2009

by Bruce Hayes » Wed Sep 14, 2011 3:07 pm

Pelee Island Winery
Ontario

A blend of Baco Noir (64 per cent), Marechal Foch (21) and Zweigelt (15).

Dark cherry red in the glass.

Spicy, cherry on the nose.

Medium weight, rich fruit, jammy, strawberry, cherry, currants, good tangy acidity, floral, very berry forward, quite grapey.

Nicely tangy and mouthwatering on the finish.

Purchased at $9.45 (Canadian) and very good QPR.
