Apparently there are some great deals in the California foothills (El Dorado, Amador, etc). Look at what only $1.5M will buy you: http://www.ewalk.com/tour-a.cgi?id=115853
My wine shopping and I have never had a problem. Just a perpetual race between the bankruptcy court and Hell.--Rogov
Limerick Lane outside Healdsburg was just sold to one of those outfits that buys up "brands". Too bad. I liked their zin. I was talking to Jim Forchini at his tasting room on Friday. It seems there's a tale of woe there. I hear rumors of other places being on the block. They're a bit more numerous now, but most such rumors turn out to be just gas.
Quite a few wineries for sale, though few are cheap, or even worth anything near the asking prices. Some Arenginians just bought Renwood for quite a bit of money, and it didn't even come with real estate. The Foothills are well represented in the sell-off, but so are Sonoma County and the Central Coast.
