WTN: Two nice Wash. Reds

A few days ago I opened a 2007 Soos Creek Artist Series Red. Not quite as spicey as the 2006 but very good and with another year probably just as nice. Full of plum and cassis, with 5 hrs. decant time, it was ready to go. I think the blend was 56% Cab. Franc and 44% Cab. Sauvignon. No secondary complexity but that would surely follow with 5 or more years.

Tonight I opened a 2005 Powers Reserve Cabernet from the Champoux Vineyard of the Horse Heaven Hill area. The nose and flavors were full of spicey plum and sweet cherry with no secondary complexity. Given 6 hrs. of decant time this was very open. If I had more I'd cellar a few bottles for 5+ years to see how this developed.
