Yes, it's purple, ripe & lower in acid than more "classic" Beaujolais, but it's also very enojyable to drink in its dark yet not overbearing fruit sort of way, and whether or not it makes old bones is completely irrelevant to the fact that it was just what the doctor ordered last night after we took a walk around the house & made the final payment to the contractor on a beautiful evening with finished home renovations (exterior) & a really nice glass of wine.*

*yes, that's badly Faulknerian in its poorly constructed run-on-ness...

Sounds good. Was this the Corcelette or CdP?

Thanks for this. I'm trying to hold onto this for as long as possible but when it comes down to drinking this or some of the red Burgundy to make space in the wine refrigerator I fear this may fall victim to being uncorked.

I bought quite a bit of '09 Beaujolais, and like the vintage very much (I know...I know...), but I have no desire to age a huge stash of it for any long period of time. I'll probably tuck away a mixed case or so, and enjoy the rest while '05 Burgs and other more obviously "age required" wines sleep.

The Py? My unequivocal fave of the 09 Bojo's I've had so far. Three-four hours of decanting brings out a lot of spice, too--if you can manage to both plan ahead and leave it alone, which it doesn't make so easy.
My wine shopping and I have never had a problem. Just a perpetual race between the bankruptcy court and Hell.--Rogov

It's not easy to generalize on 'public opinion' here on WLDG but I get the feeling you guys liked the 09's more before you started shying away from the hyperbole.

I've always liked the 09s - some like Lapierre, Coudert and Foillard have produced some truly amazing wines. Though more than hyperbole, David's referring to a backlash from various folk who've criticized the 09s in general for being too ripe and atypical of Beaujolais.

The couple of 2010s I've had so far have me very excited - it's a slightly leaner, lighter vintage, but I'm glad to have a decent amount of both vintages around to drink now and over the next few years.

Well, I wasn't sure whose opinion David was referring to.

I thought 09 was amazing, but you should know I only tasted 3-4 producers. Such is life here in the Wild Mid East.

What Salil said. I bought more than I'd really intended, just because I had know how X did in '09. Now I'll have to do the same for 2010.
