La Closeraie 2009 - Faugeres
Grenache 40%, Cinsault 30%, Syrah 15%, Mourvedre 15%

I have a soft spot for Faugeres, I think it's a great appellation. I think cinsault blended in at the right doses is awesome and distinguishes this wine. The nose is floral and gorgeous. No wood. In the mouth it's rich without being overly so. The 14.5% alcohol is restrained. Balanced and tasty with a lot of fruit. I think the cinsault and mourvedre components really distinguish this wine from the ocean of grenache-syrah wines in southern france. This will age well. At 20 bucks it is worth buying by the case. Bought at Wine Authorities in Durham, NC. They arrest you after you buy the wine. :)
