There is nothing like finding a Mosel auslese that is under screw-cap and is decently drinkable for $3.99 to make my day. This time it is 2007 Rudolf Muller Riesling Auslese (Mosel), AP 290700920909, 8.5% alc, and having a lightness and depth that can only be Mosel. It is light and tasty, and well worth its tariff. On the back of the bottle it states shipped by : "Rudolf Muller...Zell...Bottled by: D-RP 907 009 in D-135 092 05" (whatever that means). Perhaps your west coast Grocery Outlet has some as mine did. It even has decent reviews on CellarTracker.

Jim, I love to find wines at well below their natural price point. Somehow a wine that we know is worth way more than we paid, makes it even better. I remember 10-12 years ago I found a stash of pretty darn good German Rieslings that normally would sell for about $12 per (Kabinetts) and bought a mixed case for under $40.

Here in the Portland area I found a $2.99 Sauv Blanc from Chile that was quite nice. It was called Fauna. The other wine they had back in stock was a Sacred Hill 2008 Pinot Noir from Central Otago at $5.99. I love this for BBQ. They also had a New Harbor Pinot Noir 2008 for $4.99 which was nice but I liked the Sacred Hill better as it had more depth and richness.

Michael, I did see that Sacred Hill at my local Grocery Outlet. I'll check it out. Thanks, Jim
