For whatever reason, I have very little experience with Theo Haart's wines. With that in mind, and owning to my love of 2008 Mosel Kabinetts, I decided to open this bottle.
Piesporter Grafenberg is a new vineyard to me. Haart's website indicates that it gives juicy, very mineral wines, which is a positive thing for me, and right on the mark in the case of this wine.
2008 Reinhold Haart Piesporter Grafenberg Riesling Kabinett
Delicate, mineral/bready/herbal nose. Medium-bodied, round, juicy, lightly sweet, and well balanced, with good underlying acidity. Gently mineral/saline, refreshing, somewhat understated, with lime, citrus zest, and dark plum flavors. Very good; a nice example of a 2008 Mosel Kabinett, but a rather short finish prevents it from being excellent in my opinion.
