Another successful MoCool!!

by JuliaB » Mon Aug 15, 2011 1:37 pm

Wow..a hundred folks and more than twice that many wines,a beautiful setting and food beyond belief! Just as dinner was about to be served, a sudden storm blew us into the lodge (of course we took the wine in with us) and the party continued. Who could complain with a heaping plate of Chef Alan Kerr's risotto, salmon and much, more on the plate? I am not sure if the man is a magician or a god in the kitchen, either way he never ceases to amaze us with his culinary skills.
We say this every year, but for those who have never been, it is difficult to imagine the fun and fellowship this weekend provides. It truly is THE event of the year, in my book. A big thank you to Joel, Sally, Clay, Cindy, Jay, Dave and Mary for 20 years of fabulous memories.

Hope to see you all again next year!

363 days!!!

Yes! Another great MOCOOL! Of course, I was enjoying the wines too much to bother taking notes. However, I did steal one of the menus and will post in the FLDG when I get caught up.

Groucho - That's because it's dry Champagne.

I hope someone posts some notes. I am glad the rain did not destroy the festivities.

Hi James,

I just posted notes on my BC Bordeaux blend contest under the title: And the winner is ...

Check it out.

Howie's Cabernet Franc/Merlot blend was terrific. I hope he enters it in a state or regional competition. We were getting a barrel sample as he hasn't bottled the bulk of it yet.

Sounds like good fun. Really liked Howie's Cab Franc/Merlot barrel sample when he poured it at the Bob Ross Jeebus, that is a lovely wine.

Out of curiosity, did any bottles of Cayuse Syrah or Grenache show up with the NW theme?

Come on...no one took notes?

I thought young Sam Platt took notes. I don't bother...too many wines, too many people to talk to...I know my limitations.

I actually had a note pad and pen in my pocket and had intentions to take notes, however, it didn't get done. The mad dash to move all the food and wine inside when the thunderstorm and winds happened made me forget all about it. I have a "Julia" picture, but haven't unloaded my camera yet.
