A wee BloodyPulpit:
1. BodegaRancho is the Rhone label for what used to be the LaBoheme label; which is now devoted to their Pinots. Their wines are sourced from cold-climate areas of Calif, mostly the extreme SonomaCoast. This was from their Spring release which included three Syrahs: QueSyrahVnyd, VivioVnyd, TheriotVnyd. Principals behind this wine are Derek & Kurt Beitler.
This was their first effort w/ Viognier. Those from the SantaLuciaHighlands tend to be pretty ripe and DollyParton in style. This one is more a JuliaRoberts. Thought it a very nicely done effort.
They will have their Chard/Pinot release for LaBoheme any day. Tasted them at Enoteca/Margaux several weeks ago and also liked them quite a bit.
