A blend of Shiraz (46 per cent), Mourvedre (20), Grenache (15), Tempranillo (17) and Carignan (2).

Dark purple, almost black, in the glass.

Spicy, fresh-crushed fruit on the rich nose.

Medium weight, spicy, peppery, fruit forward, blackberry, black cherry, good acidity, lightly smoky, tangy, very full in the mouth, tobacco.

Drying, dark berry fruit on the finish.

Screwcap closure.

Purchased at $45 (Canadian) from a restaurant wine list.
