Downtown Montreal hotel or B and B?

by Bruce Hayes » Mon Oct 16, 2006 5:24 pm

My wife and I are thinking of heading to Montreal for a weekend. Can anyone direct me to a "nice" but not incredibly expensive, downtown Montreal hotel or B and B?

Thanks.

Bruce, we've stayed here: http://www.bbmontreal.com/welcome.htm
and found it comfortable, and very convenient by foot to restaurants, etc.

Thanks Craig. It looks quite nice and seems to be in a very good location.

If you like seafood, be advised that the Greek Maffia controls it in Montreal. Highly recommend Mythos at 5318 Parc Avenue. It is beyond walking distance from the B&B, but only a short drive. It is one of our favorite restaurants in the whole world. There is no menu, only "you wants." You want wine? You want bread? After a few rounds of "you wants" they bring around a platter full of fresh, but dead fish. You pick one out, and with no insturctions from you, they take it away to cook. While it is cooking, they ask, you want eggplant, you want salad, you want etc, etc. All along you keep saying, I want wine. When you get your bill, you won't believe it. It will probably be half or less than what you expect. Money is not discussed at all until they bring the bill!

Don't miss it!
