Tried this last night w/ dinner samwiches:
1. SimasFamilyVnyd CapayWhite WTW CapayVlly (40% Roussanne/30% GrenacheBlanc/25% Marsanne/5% Viognier; "light delicate wine"; www.SimasFamilyVineyard.com) Sacramento 2009: Dark bizarre orange/bronze/deep golden color; very strong honeyed/mead some piney/resinous very ripe/overripe orange/orange peel bizarre nose; soft/fat/flabby overripe/honeyed/mead-like bit alcoholic some piney/resinous/orangey bizarre flavor; quite short overripe/piney/resinous quite honeyed/mead some alcoholic very heavy bodied finish; looks for all the world like it was made as an orange wine but no oxidative character or tannic bitterness; "light delicate" it definitely is not; a very bizarre wine that I kinda like in a perverse sort of way; somewhat interesting but very weird. $9.40 (CB)
