WTN: Carmel Ridge Red 2007

Galilee
Carmel Winery
A blend of mainly Carignan, with a little Shiraz, Petite Sirah and Cabernet Sauvignon.

Rich cherry red in the glass.

Spicy, cherry, plummy fruit on the nose.

Medium weight, very spicy, currants, cherry, strawberry, fruit-forward and juicy, floral, nicely delicate, tangy, tobacco, tarry.

With time, the wine revealed quite a high degree of acidity, but reamined quite tasty.

Floral, spicy, drying, delicate berry fruit on the long finsh.

A rich and delicious wine. My first from Israel.

Purchased on sale at $14.95 (Canadian), down from an initial release price of $22.95.
