WTN: Spinyback Pinot Gris 2009

by Bruce Hayes » Sun Jul 17, 2011 10:22 am

Nelson, South Island
Waimea Estate

Rich yellow-light gold in the glass.

Spicy, very tangy on the nose.

Medium weight, intense, lime, sort of gooseberry/rhubarb-like fruit, spicy, good acidity, quite refreshing.

With time, and as the bottle warmed, the wine became a bit plumper, showing pear and honey.

Spicy, tangy, intense lime on the mouthwatering finish.

An odd, but pleasing, wine.

Purchased at $14.95 (Canadian).
