WTN: Fugue de Nenin 2005

by Jay Labrador » Tue Jul 12, 2011 11:38 am

From dinner at Cirkulo with Vince, Arnie, Johnny and Beth.

Second wine of Chateau Nenin , Pomerol. Popped and poured. Hard to tell the color as the lighting was pretty low but it did look rather dark. Nose had a lot of fruit to it and that carried on to the palate. Creme de cassis, ripe and fleshy. Comes close to being jammy but not quite there yet. The palate is pretty dry but the overall impression is one of very ripe fruit. Very soft with medium finish. Good, but it has a California vibe to it. Drink now as I don't see this improving further.

Curious as to the price point on this. 2nd wines used to be values, but that's not such a sure thing these days.

Hi David,

The full retail price in Manila is about $ 74.00.
