Seeking Suggestions for Buying Wine Along the Way

This will be a strange one.

I will be on a cruise this coming December from Venice to Rio de Janiero, stopping in

Dubrovnik, Croatia
Corfu, Greece
Valletta, Malta
Tunis, Tunisia
Gibraltar,

before going to Brazil.

I usually bring my own wine and pay corkage.

I am looking for wines that represent the local flavor. What should I buy at these places and WHERE should I buy them?

I want to buy wines that are less than US$30/bottle.

By the way, the 16-night cruise only cost US$ 808 per person inside cabin.

OK - a strange one back at you :)

When in Tunisia, keep an eye out for Thibarine Date Liquer. We had one a few years ago, that appeared to have less cork left than had already been eaten by the bugs. Yet (perhaps/probably down to the extra age) was a sublime drink. So if you see a tired old (but full) bottle, be prepared to give it a try.

To the best of my knowledge, all your ports of call have excellent local wines. Have been to the first three, and know that all the locals make decent wine. You may be surprised.
