1. The pre-Ojai Rose '10 really hit the spot afore this more serious wine. The wine was pretty much dead & gone when I tried it this morning; no fruit, lots of tannins.
Pretty surreal sitting out on Susan's back patio and watching the mountains 30 miles away across the valley. Long orange glow across the CerroGrande ridge leading up to the PajaritoMtn ski hill. Stream of headlights going up/down CampMay Rd as fire fighting efforts continue. Weather calm and headway being made. Now at 70,000 acres burned. Not out of the woods yet, but things looking promising that we escape serious damage. Did I mention there's smoke everywhere??
