I have recently bought a lot of Wash. state wine in the spirit of this years MoCool. So I tried tonight a wine that could easily be re-bought; the 2006 Di Stefani Sogno (Cab. Franc). Color was black with purple at the rim, and the nose was ??? I got very little from the nose. The flavors however were full of cranberry (think crunchy acidic fruit) that opened up a lot over 45 min. There was no herbalness/greenish quality. This wine will probably improve over the near-term of 4-7 years because the balance of tannins/acid/fruit was excellent. What next--Hedges/Will/Cadence/Soos Cr. As I write this note with glass in hand, I'm really liking this wine for its smoothness and foreward fruit.
