WTN: Belle Glos Meiomi Pinot Noir 2009

Sonoma Valley (47 per cent), Monterey County (19) and Santa Barbara County (34)

Dark cherry red in the glass.

A lovely nose: Smoky, spicy, red licorice, perfumed, creamy, Christmas cake.

Very hefty in the mouth, cranberry, raspberry, cherry, rich and intense, silky, loads of spices, floral, mouth-coating, lightly charred, smoky, creamy, good acididty, very smooth, Christmas cake.

With time, the wine became a bit shareper and tarter, but remained delicious.

Raspberry, cherry, spicy, lightly mouthwatering on the very long finish.

An impressive wine. I bought four bottles, so will be interesting to see what happens with a bit of age.

Screwcap closure.

Purchased at $26.95 (Canadian).
