Hype?

I liked this but didn't love it. Despite all the usual caveats about young primary wine I thought it was a lot simpler than Texier's St Julien, the main competitor for 09 Northern Rhone syrah in my purchasing scheme. Of course in the long run I'm sure one would be happy to have both, but for my limited purchasing capacities I gave the nod to Texier. That said, will be happy to see this again with a few months or years of age.

Hard to go wrong!

I love both the Texier and the Gonon.

Have either of you tried the 09 Fauterie Cornas that's at Chambers St.? Or Fauterie Cornas from any vintage?

It just so happens I had the 2002 over the weekend. Lovely, mature Northern Rhone.

I've been meaning to buy the 09 Cornas but never got around to it. The 07 St Joseph seemed promising, although I think I caught it in a down phase.

I liked the 07 St.-Joseph a lot - it showed really well for me.
