2008 Badia a Coltibuono Chianti Classico
Mostly Sangiovese, with some Canaiolo. Mixed berry/floral nose. Medium-bodied, well balanced, with good underlying acidity and elegant tannins. Tastes of blueberries, red plums, and red berries, with pleasant mineral notes. Very good.

2008 Isole e Olena Chianti Classico
80% Sangiovese, 15% Canaiolo, and 5% Syrah. Nose full of cherries, with a slightly minty aroma. Medium to full-bodied, soft, round, ripe, with smooth tannins. Shows notes of cherries, plums, clay, cinnamon, and anisette. Slightly hot and medicinal, however. The wine does benefit from some aeration, but I can still taste that 14.5% alcohol. It should be noted that I'm not a particularly big fan of this producer's wines, though.

2005 Carpineto Chianti Classico Riserva
At least 80% Sangiovese, with the rest made up of Canaiolo and other grapes. Somewhat shy on the nose right now. Medium-bodied, well balanced, with good underlying acidity and finesse; shows mixed berry, cherry, and mineral notes, with hints, of game, smoke, tar, and spices. Very good/excellent.
