The `09 Vinhos Sogrape Vinho Verde Gazela is one of the best sellers around I hear. This evenings patio party, in miserable weather conditions, saw a few of us indulge with some grilled shrimp skewers. Light melon and grapefruit on the nose plus hint of pear. Slight prickle on entry, crisp and refreshing. Very much easy-drinking style with nice minerality.

I'm grilling some steaks today for an early Father's Day and plan to open my Turley Zin for a try. Perfect wine for a hot DC day! I'll be at the U.S. Open tomorrow (thus moving the day forward one day).

I am thinking of opening the new vintage of the Houchart Rose from Provence.
Last night, friends opened the `07 Quinta do Valdoeiro Bairrada as they know my fondness for Portugal. Vinhos Messias can produce some nice reds, this was no exception. TN to follow asap.

Getting ready to open up a 2005 Guilliams Cabernet Sauvignon to go with steaks for this evening.

Our traditional Father's Day dinner will be meatballs and spaghetti, and I haven't decided what to open tomorrow.
