I think CT is amazing well thought out, and gives incredible flexibility for different ways of looking at your cellar.
Can Eric's DB be exported? If it can be sent into an Excel or Access file, there's a bulk import tool for CT. There might even be tab delineated text capabilty.
There is no cost to use it as a cellar management tool. Eric Levine does ask for contributions (suggested amounts vary according to cellar size) and contributions get you some premium features, but that's up to you- the actual cellar management has no fixed charge
