We have been tasting rose' wines all week, mostly sparkling, while we tasted the still rose' last weekend (write-up to follow). Tonight we finished the sparklers with the clear winner, Domaine Carneros NV Cuvee de la Pompadour. It was an exquisite wine. Can't say that it was better than a Runart or Verve-Cliquot since we did not have those (we did have the Lucien-Albrecht Cremant d'Alsace Rose', which was superb), though I do know that the Dom. Carneros had out shown its parent, Taittinger, in previous tasting. NTL, this was what you were looking for, assuming you can find it @ about $30. We followed that up with grilled chicken, peppers, onions, rice and bread with an almost over-the-top '08 Jean Descombs (DeBeouf) Morgon. Full of everything. Makes me want to keep the '09's for at least another year. The fact that people want to ignore DeBoeuf makes me want to ignore people.
