Any Update on MoCool?

by Jim Grow » Sun Jun 05, 2011 3:22 pm

I know this is a little early ( just 2 1/2 months) and maybe this should be posted on the off-line planner forum but I wanted to confirm that Luci and I will definitely be attending MoCool this year and hope to also stay at the cabins by the lodge. From the Pinot Noir posting by Tom N. it looks like we are still doing wines of the NorthWest. I need to scout out some more interesting wines from that region. B.C. wines never make it to central Ohio but Oregon and Wash. wines do to some degree. I'm sure the Noland bros. will be there and O.W.(I have a present for you O.W.), Howie and Julia but how about Jane C? I also have 6-8 clean empty styrafoam mailers I'd again like to get rid of if anyone wants them. Who else is gettting excited about MoCool?

I'm pretty sure that the venue has been switched to Moldova.

Cheers,

That could prove to be difficult. All my Moldovian wine is not worthy of MoCool!

Judging from the way this growing season has begun, I may actually be able to think about Mo'Cool this year. Where is it going to be?
I don't know just how I'm supposed to play this scene, but I ain't afraid to learn...

In my excitement, I failed to notice you asked "where"...just outside of Ann Arbor at a private Lodge resort area. Amazing setting. Cabins (fully equipped) on site.

Julia, there are NO Tempurpedic beds at the Cabins, and IIRC that is a requirement of Steve's.

I may actually make it this year. If it were the end of August I would be in Tuscany but mid-August may work for me.

I find it a pity there was not enough news after the event last year, plus no pics. Some of us far away are quite interested in the happenings there at McC.

I think James, that Steve, like me, has a bad back. Of course he can be more picky than me! :-) Sure wish I knew I could go this year...it would be my 15th consecutive.

I nominate you to attend this year's event as the designated photographer.

Indeed! Tall, shady oak trees, Alan Kerr doing his chef thing all day, a private lake for fishing and swimming, John Trembley bringing astounding Riesling - what more could one ask for?

I'm so glad I started this thread. Plans are coming together. Luci and I are both really hoping that you make it this year Jane. James N., I'll bring my fishing stuff and we can maybe see what's biting this time.

Hi Jim,

You betcha we're coming. I may bring a nice Oregon pinot or two, but I think my main contribution will be BC wines. I have bunch of nice bordeaux blends from BC and vigonier. I am thinking of doing a tasting called Best Bordeaux Blends from BC at the Noland brothers cabin. I am really excited about this Northwest Passage Theme. I think MoCool 20 will be one of the best MoCools yet! :D

Is anyone going to post a formal announcement on the WLDG? Either here or in the offline Forum? It seems that a link to the MoCool 2011 page might be appropriate from one of the organizers.
