WTN: Perrin & Fils Reserve Rose 2010

by Bruce Hayes » Wed May 25, 2011 8:44 am

AC Côtes du Rhône

A blend of Cinsault, Syrah, Grenache and Mourvèdre.

Bright, almost neon, pink in the glass.

Spicy, strawberry on the nose.

Light to medium weight, quite crisp, rather diluted cherry, strawberry, raspberry, good acidity, an earthy-bitter bite which intensified with time.

Bitter-earthy bite on the finish.

Quite disappointing.

Screwcap closure.

Purchased at $15.95 (Canadian) and a poor QPR.

Hi Bruce,

I always like the 'little-sister' La Vieille Ferme Rose that you wrote about earlier better than the Perrin Res for some reason, though the Rouge and Blanc Reserves are usually better than the LVF counterparts. Close to $16 CN sounds rather steep for that wine.

Cheers,
Bill
