WTN: Il Palagio Vernaccia Di San Gimignano 2009

by Bruce Hayes » Mon May 23, 2011 1:58 pm

DOCG Tuscany

Light, bright, yellow in the glass.

Lemon, spicy on the nose.

Medium weight, lemon, grapefruit, citrus rind, peppery, clean, soft in the mouth, juicy, a hint of honey, good acidity, refreshing.

Peppery, lemon on the mouthwatering finish.

Simply delicious. Prior to this, I had never heard of the Vernaccia Di San Gimignano grape.

Purchased at $13.95 (Canadian).

Doug,

My wife and I discovered Vernaccia when we visited San Gimignano for the first time. Since then we have become big fans of this little known grape.
