WTN: Morgante Nero D'Avola 2008

by Bruce Hayes » Sat May 21, 2011 1:52 pm

IGT Sicilia

Very dark red, almost purple, in the glass.

Spicy, smoky, dense, meaty on the nose.

Quite mouthfilling, meaty, tarry, spicy, good tangy acidity, black cherry, tomato, balsamic vinegar, rich, big, plump, juicy, a hint of chocolate.

Lightly mouthwatering, spicy and chocolate on thefinish.

Delicious. One of the best Nero D'Avolas I have had.

Purchased at $14.95 (Canadian) and very good QPR.

Sounds good. We recently picked up a couple of bottles of the one from Cusumano at about the same price. Do you have any experience with that one?

I have only had the whites from that winery, but I liked them.
