WTN: La Vieille Ferme Rose 2010

by Bruce Hayes » Sat May 14, 2011 11:52 am

Perrin & Fils
Cotes Du Ventoux

My first rose of "the season." :D

A blend of Cinsault (50 per cent), Grenache (40) and Syrah.

Medium dark cherry red in the glass. Actually, I thought it was surprisingly dark for a rose.

Raspberry, strawberry, spicy on the nose.

Medium weight, raspberry, strawberry, an earthy streak and a light bitter bite, good acidity, clean, crisp and refreshing.

A mouthwatering finish.

Quite nice.

Screwcap closure.

Purchased at $10.95 (Canadian) and a pretty good deal at that..

I didn't even realize LVF made a rose--have never seen it hereabouts. Good to know--these wines are always good value and worth a try.
My wine shopping and I have never had a problem. Just a perpetual race between the bankruptcy court and Hell.--Rogov
