McLaren Vale
D’Arenberg

A blend of Grenache (70 per cent), Shiraz (20) and Mourvèdre.

Decanted about 40 minutes.

Dark red in the glass.

Very shy on the nose, with some earthy notes.

Medium weight, sweet, very spicy, raspberry, cherry, good acidity, a hint of chocolate, drying, Rather restrained, but quite enjoyable and delicious.

With time, the wine became a bit sharp.

Raspberry, spicy on the long finish.

Purchased at $39.90 (Canadian).

My last bottle from a case of six.
