Tried last night w/ my pizza:
1. DrewFamily PinotNoir ValentiVnyd/MendocinoRidge (362 cs; 13.8%) 2008: Med.color w/ slight bricking; strong black cherry/earthy/Pinot some toasty/charred/pencilly/Burgundian/oak/smokey slight herbal/sage/walnutty/rosemary rather complex nose w/ lots of base notes; fairly tart light black cherry/earthy/Pinot slight chocolaty strong smokey/Burgundian/charred/oak/pencilly flavor w/ modest tannins; very long smokey/Burgundian/pencilly/Fr.oak some herbal/sage/rosemary/spicy rather black cherry/Pinot/earthy finish w/ modest tannins; not a bright AndersonVlly-style Pinot but deeper/more Burgundian in character; very well balanced that should take it out another 4-6 yrs. $35.00

And a wee BloodyPulpit:
1. I have, of course, followed Jason&Molly Drew's wines from the very start. I was first attracted to his SantaBarbara Syrahs annd didn't get all that excited about his Pinots.....nice, but not as dramatic as some from down SantaBarbara way. Now that he has moved up onto the MendoRidge area, I taken a real liking to his Pinots...though I'm still a big fan of his Syrahs as well. And his Albarino is one of the best in Calif. Great wines...great peeps.
