Vincent Girardin Meursault Perrieres 2006

Pale yellow in the glass.
Nose: white fruits, honey, but also something more primary (hay, grass?), flinty
When drunk, white fruits and honey carry through, a strong mineral side to the finish, with lemony overtones. Malolactic seems detectable in this last, but I did not find the vanilla notes I associate with heavy oak.
Overall, a delightful bottle that went nicely w/shrimp and asparagus risotto, that seems to be coming into its own, but certainly could stay in the cellar a few more years.

Coincidentally we opened a 2004 of this last weekend, Joshua, and your description would describe ours pretty well save the malo effect which we didn't find. I love Girardins white burgs, and they're often come up pretty reasonable at discount retail (like WineCommune.com).
My wine shopping and I have never had a problem. Just a perpetual race between the bankruptcy court and Hell.--Rogov

I've been pleased with my experiences with this label as well including a Corton Charlemagne which was reasonably priced for a Grand Cru Burgundy. I should be on the lookout for more purchases.
