WTN: Santa Julia Reserva Chardonnay 2009

by Bruce Hayes » Sat Apr 30, 2011 1:05 pm

Mendoza
Familia Zuccardi

Bright yellow, with green tints, in the glass.

Creamy, spicy on the nose.

Medium weight, tangy, peppery, lemon, grapefruit, quite sharp citrus rind bitterness.

Quite lemony and bitter on the finish.

Improved, a bit, as it warmed, but still loads of bitter citrus rind.

Not nice.

Purchased on sale at $10.40 (Canadian).

No need for the , Bruce. I'm always happy to read your TNs. I was surprised to see the Billboards with a bottle of wine where there might normally be a bottle of cola. Actually, I'm a little disappointed that the good citizens of Argentina would opt for a 9 peso happy meal from McDonalds when you can get an Empanada and a beer from a street vendor for the same price.

Cheers,
Bill
