their basic bottling, I understand. I don't have a lot of experience with Brunello, so I'm sure this is not considered a :great" wine, but I really enjoyed this. Popped and poured. Ton of bright cherry on the nose and the palate. Cherry was complemented by a hint of funk...just a hint. Touch of leather and tobacco...bracing acidity (some cellartracker commentors found the wine "tart"-I like "tart", so no problem here!). Hint of a metallic finish smoothed out substantially with more air. A very enjoyable quaffer and pretty old school/old world...
Drinking a bit of a typical commercial zinfandel (Pedroncelli) after drinking a glass of the Brunello made the zin taste like oak berry soup!
We need a "bleh" emoticon. With a tongue sticking out. Or even an emoticon turning green not in evil glee but in disugust!
