Burgundy, France. 14% abv. Pretty light gold color--no browning--with transparency. Some lanolin and juicy apple on the nose. Also oak spices (sandalwood?) Lanolin and vanillin prominent on the palate. On the palate the fruit comes closer to lemon custard than apples. In balance even with the evident richness. Tastes like wine, not chewing on a toothpick. Smooth, silky, still young and fresh tasting. Easy drinking and pleasant but doesn't scream "Grand Cru." This was my only bottle and I would give serious consideration to purchasing again depending on the price. A wine like this calls for a white fish in cream sauce or lobster tail with melted butter and/or lemon juice or Crab Meuniere or Crab Newburg. For a vegetarian it could go with Tortellini Alfredo or a non-vegetarian might enjoy it with Tortelloni Carbonara.
