Very Bordeaux in character, this merlot-dominated blend (70%) has red plum, earth, savory notes, cassis. Some black pepper. Even this young, the wine seems plush, but there are still some tannins and good acid. Only worry is this may have been a lesser bottle, as there was a hint of oxidation on the mid palate that was not there last year.
