This S.A. Prum Essence Riesling is only a steal deal if you like your white wines slightly sweet. Categorized as a Qualitatswein, this is 11% alcohol by volume and has a screwcap. Straw color. Crisp, citrusy notes. Easy-drinking wine that does encapsulate some of the "essence" of Mosel Riesling and is usually priced between $9.00 and $13.00. I would rate it somewhere in the 80's. I like it better than some of the other Rieslings I've tried in the same price range that are made to appeal to the broader market. In some ways it reminds me of the Piesporter Michelsberg wine that used to be my every day Riesling when I lived in Germany.

I very much like this one. For the price, it's hard to do better.
