WTN: Tasty Carmenere

Deep garnet. A rich nose of dark fruit especially blackberry and black currant with hints of cured tobacco. Fruity midpalate with juicy acidity and fine grained tannins. Nice long luxurious finish with a blackeberry tannic seed bite at the back of the palate.

With food: Nice with roast beef.
Better with pear walnut salad dressed with a balsamic vinagrette. The walnuts really bring out the sweet dark fruit and tame the blackberry seed finish.

Wine: Montes Alpha 2007 Carmenere 14.5% abv.
