WTN: Chateau Milon (Pauillac) 1959

by Arnt Egil Nordlien » Sun Oct 08, 2006 4:39 am

I just had a bottle of Chateau Milon 1959 yesterday. The label says cru bourgeois superieur and states Pauillac as the commune. And that is about everything. The wines was bottled by Robbers & van den Hoogen in Arnhem. I have never heard of a Chateau Milon in Pauillac and can not find any info on this producer. It is not longer listed among the "cru bourgeois superieurs". So anyone with info on what happened to this producer would much be appreciated.

Here is the TN:

Brick-red colour. The complex nose shows stable, earth, animal skin and some floral notes. In the mouth this wine is medium bodied. Mature fruit, but only a little faded. Complex and evolved. Hints of stable, earth and more floral notes than in the nose. Medium acids and still some tannins in the back. Good length. Very fine Bordeaux still drinking perfectly.
