Niagara Peninsula
Cherry red in the glass.
Vanilla, creamy, spicy on the nose.
Light to medium weight, some greenness, tangy acidity, a hint of tobacco, good plump cherry fruit, with a dirty-bitter streak which (thankfully) calmed down a bit with some time.
Drying on the finish.
A rather odd wine. After all is said and done, it struck me as being more Pinot Noir (vanilla, spicy, tangy, cherry) than Cab Franc. Wasn't expecting much since 2008 wasn't a great year for reds in Ontario.
Purchased on sale at $10.85 (Canadian).
