Wine Labels

by Ron DiLauro » Fri Apr 01, 2011 9:24 pm

My wife and I are going through some remodeling of our house.. I came across a manilla folder that had so many of the labels of the wines I had been drinking since 1971.
I found about 15 Lafitte Rothschild, I have almost 20 different Mouton Rothschild all with their different labels painted by an artist, so many Haut Brion, Latours, Margaux.
Loaded up with French Bordeaux. Then I found all my great French burgandies, the Romanée-Conti, The Gevrey-Chambertin and so much more
For Germany, the Bernkasteler Doctor 1959 was a prize.

My friends think I should mount them on a wall in my kitchen... That would be nice, BUT, I think I want to mount them in a frame, so that IF I move from our current
house I could always take my prizes with me.

What do others do with their wine labels?

I used to put them in an album, but stopped doing that years ago. Now I scrape them off, clean and sanitize the bottles and refill them with my home made wine.
Chico - Hey! This Bottle is empty!
Groucho - That's because it's dry Champagne.
