David, Salil or others, Do you have experience with wines from this producer? Quality expectations?

Hi Jane, According to Ian Jamieson in his book German Wines this is a Rheingau producer with vineyards in very high-quality sites and holdings of 136 acres. The name seems familar to me but probably from long ago. They produce about 35,000 cases per year and Eiswein is a specality for them. Their production is %88 Riesling. Sorry for the little help. I had that page book-marked just yesterday to remind me to look for wines from Eugen Wehrheim in the Rheinhessen that I might find in D.C. soon and have really liked in the past.

They also have sites in the Mosel. I've only had their 2003 Wehlener Sonnenuhr Spatlese which was decent but not particularly interesting. Can't say much about their quality based on my only experience from a freak vintage.

Very good quality producer, but not among the stellar. I find their pricing to be more in line with stellar.

Thanks for the replies. I may go ahead and try a bottle or two and see whether they appeal to me.
