1999 Dönnhoff Schloßböckelheimer Kupfergrube Riesling Spätlese (Germany, Nahe)
Drinking the best it has in years. There is still a lot of youthful sweetness and lush fruit, but the acids are finally coming out to play a little bit. I would like more mineral expression, but it's a very pleasurable drink showing no signs of fading (or even being at peak yet).

Oh yeah...Donnhoff doesn't age...

Very nice. I'm trying to keep my hands off the very few '99s I have - had a '99 Schmitt-Wagner Auslese last night, which seemed slightly awkward at first (got much better with some air) and also in need of a few years in the cellar.

Hi David -

Thank you for the note. Sounds like a great wine - hardly a surprise there!
