No real info. Drouhin-Laroze is generally fairly solid, and I think based in Gevrey. That said, 50 years is a long time for village Gevrey. What is condition like- ullage, any seepage, etc? In any case it'll be interesting to open- very generous of you to get for your friend. Hope you report back!
Another option -cheaper than Bdx - for those looking for '61 birthyear wines might be Piedmont. No guarantees, but while trophy wines are expensive, sometimes there are great bottles from less known producers (or appellations_
