2001 Josef Leitz Riesling QbA Rudesheimer Klosterlay
Picked this up on auction recently for $17. Great juice for the money! I am such a sucker for 2001 Germans. This is more of a floral, elegant bottling with a gorgeous bouquet of white flowers, grapefruit and a crazy cherry note. Lots of acidic zip in the mouth with the fruit in a supporting role. Almost Chablis like for a Riesling. Less complex in the mouth, but still nice. These should be consumed soon as it faded a bit over a few hours, but it's still a good showing for a 10 year old QbA! 93pt nose, 90 pt palate.

I am more than willing to be that bottles that have not tossed around the auction market are still developing. This wine is basically spatlese with a QbA label (due to slight chaptalization).
